Cold Astonis a small,pretty village not too far from Bourton-on-the-Water. It started life as Eastunæ and was recorded in the Domesday Book as ‘Estone’ but by the 13th century was known as Cold Aston.

It has the only pub for three villages and a great Norman church. It was too hot on the day we went so the walk was short for the hounds, but pretty and very pleasant.
