I am a child of the Cotswolds and Celt at heart, with it a wine lover, wanderer, lazy cyclist amd photographer of doors. I spent two decades in the wine industry — researching it, explaining it, selling it, living it. In that time I managed retail outlets then managed accounts looking after a diverse portfolio of clients: on-trade, private clients, caterers, fine wine collectors and investment. I have walked the vineyards, picked the grapes, tasted the wines, hosted events, written tasting notes, and through it developed a deep understanding of the industry and an innate ability to best guide people through glass after glass.
During that journey I realised the best way to sell something was to tell its story: to get inside its skin, understand its philosophy, history, traditions and most importantly the ambitions of the people behind it and translate that passion into words.
But there is more to me than just wine. I have a fascination with the written word: to research something intensely to find its heart, and use that hook to craft a compelling story around it. I love the challenge of new things and finding the right words to craft around them, helping brands express who they are — with writing that’s warm, whimsical, full of detail and atmosphere, and sprinkled with personality and a little magic.
